Before the needle
What happens at
your consultation
I don’t send designs out ahead of time, and I don’t make exceptions — so this is where everything gets settled. By the end of it you’ll know what you’re getting, where, how big, how many sessions, and what it costs. Nothing is left to find out on the day.
- The idea
- What you want and why, plus any references you've collected. If you're unsure about part of it, say so — that's what this is for.
- Placement and size
- We look at the actual area and measure it, rather than guessing from a photo. Size follows the placement more often than the other way round.
- Colour or black and grey
- Decided here, not on the day. It changes how the piece is drawn.
- Sessions and cost
- Roughly how long the piece will take, how many sittings, and what it will cost. You'll know the number before you commit anything.
- Skin and health
- Existing work, scars, or anything medical I should know about in that area. It can change what's possible, so it's better raised now.
On the day, we go through the drawing together before we start, and there’s time to change anything that isn’t sitting right. Read the full policies before you send a request.
