Pixiu

The Pixiu takes wealth in and never lets it go. In the old stories it was left with no way to release what it swallowed, so everything that comes in, stays.

A guardian that feeds on misfortune and gives back protection. People kept them at doorways and on desks, turned outward, watching what tried to come in.

A piece about holding onto what you have built, and about being guarded without being closed off.
